Step Code Calculator

The BC Building Code (BCBC) 2018 Revision 5 (released May 1, 2023) was updated with the addition of the Zero Carbon Step Code, providing Emissions Levels (ELs) for Authority Having Jurisdictions (AHJ) to voluntarily adopt GHGI requirements. The revision also included updates to Office and Retail TEUI requirements.

This calculator is quick way to determine the limits based on the location and HDD listed in the BCBC. It references data from the Part 3 Energy Design Checklist available here. All climate data and energy requirements should be confirmed with the most recent version of the BCBC and the AHJ.
