Project

My Home Place Modular Housing

My Home Place is a supportive housing project in Dawson Creek, a small community in North-Eastern British Columbia, Canada. The project is a 3-storey, permanent modular building with 32 self-contained studio homes, including 2 accessible units. It houses people experiencing homelessness and provides support programs to community members in need.

Results

My Home Place met Step 3 of the BC Energy Step code, with a well-insulated and airtight envelope, to keep heat in, and heat recovery on ventilation. The buildling’s all-electric systems minimize greenhouse gas emissions and provide partial cooling.
Focal provided the energy modelling for this and over 60 other modular housing projects across British Columbia. All together, these projects provided over 2750 new energy efficient homes across 32 municipalities in BC.
